STREET lighting in Overton is to be upgraded in June 2014.
Hampshire County Council has chosen Scottish and Southern Energy to replace street lighting as part of its Private Finance Initiative.
A new centrally controlled base will dim street lights by 25 per cent between dusk and midnight and 5am to dawn and 50 per cent from midnight to 5am.
Julian Higgins, street lighting policy and communications manager at Hampshire County Council said: “Residents will be sent leaflets on the works with information about how to contact Hampshire County Council before the scheme begins.”
