A ZOMBIE movie starring Matt Smith is being filmed in Old Basing.
A film crew has been using the grounds of Basing House to shoot Pride and Prejudice and Zombies – a film based on Jane Austen’s classic tale of the tangled relationships between lovers, who are faced with a new challenge of an army of zombies.
The Gazette was told by a member of the team at the site that filming takes place at night.
Starring alongside Matt Smith, who played the 11th Doctor Who, is Downton Abbey’s Lily James, and actress Sally Phillps, from Bridget Jones’ Diary.
Barton’s Mill, in Old Basing, sent a Tweet earlier today saying: “Still filming Pride and Prejudice and Zombies...Basing House transformed into a grave yard for the shoot.”
The pub also invited Matt Smith to “have a drink on us”.
