THERE were some delicious aromas coming from a Basingstoke nursery when children spent the day baking bread.
Pupils from Kiddi Caru day nursery, in Beggarwood, took part in the annual Real Bread Week.
The campaign encourages people to bake their own bread or buy from local independent bakeries.
Staff at the nursery supported children in baking their bread, which was then used to make sandwiches for their tea to also mark British Sandwich Week.
Suzanne Chilvers, nursery manager, said: “The children had lots of fun getting messy kneading the dough and were amazed that the sticky mixture turned into bread when baked.
“It’s great for them to see how the foods they eat every day are actually made.
“They also enjoyed tasting their creations at tea time.”
