FIREFIGHTERS were called to a vehicle fire on the M3 this morning which caused delays of more than an hour.
Crews were called to the fire on the northbound carriageway between Basingstoke and Dummer at around 6.30am today (March 4).
All lanes of the northbound carriageway were closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.
Two crews from Basingstoke fire station attended the incident, extinguishing the blaze using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel.
The stop message was given at 7.10am, with no one injured during the incident.
Motorists travelling on the M3 had experienced delays of nearly 80 minutes, however all lanes have now re-opened with traffic flowing slowly.
