A CAR has been destroyed in a fire at a carport in Basingstoke.
Fire crews were called to the incident on Thursday, January 12 following reports of a vehicle alight in a carport on Lillymill Chine.
One car had been destroyed and another had been damaged.
A spokesperson from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said: "Basingstoke crews were called to a vehicle alight in a carport on Lillymill Chine.

"The car was destroyed in the fire which also spread to a second vehicle which was damaged by the heat.
"Firefighters in breathing apparatus stopped the fire using hose reels before ventilating the area to clear the smoke.
"After conducting community fire safety activities the crews returned to the station with the stop message coming in at 19:29."
