A CAR fire caused the closure of a major road in Basingstoke.
The fire happened on the A339 between Crabs Hill and Lloyds Lane at around 1.30pm on Sunday, July 7.
Firefighters from Basingstoke attended the scene, equipped with breathing apparatus and were able to extinguish the fire with a single hose reel.

Fire crews received the stop message at 2.30pm however the road remained closed for a number of hours, eventually reopening at 8pm.
A spokesperson from Hampshire and Isle of White Fire and Rescue Service said: "Basingstoke firefighters were called at 1.30pm on Sunday to a vehicle fire on the A339.
"Firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus, successfully extinguished the fire using a single hose reel. Crews made the scene safe, and the stop message came in at 2.30pm."
