A THREE-year-old boy died unexpectedly after suffering a medical episode at a 'family-friendly' festival.
Emergency services, including an air ambulance, rushed to Carfest, at Laverstoke Park Farm, shortly after 11pm on Saturday, August 24.
Police officers had been made aware that a three-year-old child had suffered a "medical episode".
The boy was taken to hospital but died a short time later.
Hampshire Constabulary is treating the death as "unexpected" and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
A spokesperson for CarFest told the Gazette: "There was a medical incident on the festival site on Saturday, August 24.
"The incident was attended to by the onsite medical and security teams supported by the NHS.
"The patient was taken offsite to hospital."
A Hampshire police spokesperson said: "Shortly after 11pm on Saturday, August 24, officers were made aware of a medical episode involving a three-year-old boy at CarFest, Overton.
"The child was taken to hospital, but sadly passed away a short time later.
"The death is being treated as unexpected and a file is being prepared for the coroner."

CarFest 2024 took place from Friday, August 23 to Sunday, August 25 and welcomed the likes of Sam Ryder and Scouting For Girls.
Held in a family-run farm, the festival was created by Chris Evans to help raise money for UK children's charities.
It welcomes thousands of people annually to admire cars, enjoy live music, meet TV hosts and get involved with food demonstrations.
