FIREFIGHTERS from Basingstoke helped tackle a caravan fire yesterday.
The crew was called to a catering site in Chapel Lane, near Winchester, at around 8.46am on April 2, where they joined other firefirghters from Winchester and Eastleigh to stop the blaze from spreading to nearby gas containers, which were removed safely.
One of the caravans was completely destroyed by the fire, which lasted for more than two hours.
A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service said two males, aged 37 and 26, were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.
One was taken to hospital by ambulance but his injuries were not serious.
An investigation has been launched into the cause of the fire.
