GAME-for-a-laugh residents in Old Basing have bared all for a calendar that will hopefully raise pounds as well as eyebrows and smiles.
The plucky participants shed their clothes to pose for the 2011 calendar which will hopefully raise more than £4,000 for St Mary’s Church.
Locals from the art club, Royal British Legion, a village football team, Spar shop, butchers, bakery and a hair salon bared all for the calendar, which is now on sale at local shops in the village.
Photographer and organiser Laura Haystaff, from Beddington Court, Lychpit, said that the shoots had been great fun and she was thrilled with the results.
Laura, 28, said: “I wanted to raise some money for our village church and to also give a donation to the Poppy Appeal.
“I was so surprised how keen people were to get naked for charity.
“I initially approached 13 organisations, expecting most of them to say no, but I only got one refusal. People were really keen to get their kit off.”
Irene Allaway, of Old Basing Art Group, stripped off for an art-inspired shoot in which she and fellow artists painted a clothed male model while the artists themselves sat in the buff.
Irene, who has six grandchildren, said that she really enjoyed the experience. The pensioner, from Belle Vue Road, Old Basing, said: “It was for a really good cause and we had a great time actually doing the shoot. I wasn’t embarrassed and my husband and children were very supportive.
“We’re all senior citizens but we thought ‘why not’. It’s not every day you get to do something like this. I would definitely do it again.”
