Full-time - Staines Town 0 Basingstoke Town 2

That's Town's best performance under Bristow. They played for the full 90 minutes and defended resolutely when they needed to.

See The Monday Gazette for a full report and all of the reaction.

Town goal - Pratt scores with his first touch, acrobatically knocking the ball home after a good move led to Daly getting in and having a low shot half-saved.

90+4 min - GOAL - Staines Town 0 Basingstoke Town 2 (Pratt)

90+3 min - Town replace Sam-Yorke with David Pratt.

90+1 min - Town give away a free-kick on the edge of the area. Chaaban smashes a low shot and Bayes does well to save, with Town getting to the loose ball first and smuggling it away.

Red card - Smart is caught by a late, lunging tackle by Everitt and stays down, clearly in some pain. The referee decrees the foul was reckless, sending the home left-back off, though Smart does return.

80 min - RED CARD - Everitt (Staines)

77 min - The hosts make their final change, bringing on Adam Thompson in place of Gareth Risbridger.

76 min - That's another good opening wasted. Again Town found themselves three-on-three after good work by Sills and Sam-Yorke, but the passing just was not crisp enough to take advantage.

73 min - Daly smashes a shot in from 25 yards, forcing Courtnage into a flying stop.

72 min - Matt Warner does not get a call when the ball seems to be heading out for a corner and his clearance only reaches Chaaban on the edge of the area. However, the shot is poor and trickles past the post.

69 min - A Staines fan has volunteered to step in and we are back under way.

69 min - There's a long stoppage as one of the assistant referees has pulled a muscle. The call comes out for a qualified official, otherwise there might be an abandonment.

63 min - Bayes fails to hold Everitt's low shot but fortunately Gasson reacts first to clear the danger.

61 min - Town fail to clear a long throw and the ball drops for Staines defender Jake Goodman, who shoots over. A good chance.

59 min - Double change for the hosts, who bring Mark Nwokeji and Richard Butler on for Marc Charles-Smith and Tom Kavanagh.

54 min - That's another decent opening as Sam-Yorke somehow bundles his way beyond a defender and the goalkeeper but the angle stops him shooting and his centre is blocked at the near post.

48 min - Courtnage flaps at Nathan Smart's ball in and Lake's shot is almost turned in by Old, the ball falling into the 'keeper's grateful arms.

Seconds later, Sills gets a flick on Sam-Yorke's low cross but Courtnage makes a comfortable save.

46 min - Staines get the game re-started. No changes for either side at the break.

Half-time - Staines Town 0 Basingstoke Town 1

Another decent first half display from Town and they deservedly lead. However, they cannot afford to fade in the second period like they did against Dartford and Thurrock, especially playing into a gusting wind and low sun. Could be a nervy second half.

45+1 min - Some clever play sees the hosts work a good opening - but they try to walk the ball in, with nobody taking responsibility to score. At least two players had clear openings there.

45 min - Sills is completely dominating Will Antwi and he gets the better of the defender again to knock the ball down for McAuley. He feeds Ogunbote, whose angled drive flashes just past the far post.

42 min - Staines defender Danny Gordon is booked after going through the back of Sam-Yorke on halfway.

40 min - Town break well to work a three-on-three - but the movement is not good enough and the break ends with Sam-Yorke running the ball out for a goal-kick. A good opening wasted.

29 min - Sills outmuscles two defenders in the area before swivelling to shoot. Courtnage makes the save and although the shot lacked power, he is unable to hold. McAuley gets to the loose ball but is flagged offside.

28 min - Warner takes a free-kick on the right and his delivery requires home 'keeper James Courtnage to dive and get a touch to prevent Old converting.

24 min - Ali Chaaban looks to be outpacing the Town defence to a ball over the top. Steven Old makes the challenge and while he claims to have got the ball, the referee disagrees, giving a free-kick on the edge of the area.

Both sides surround the officials and Old is perhaps fortunate only to see yellow, though Jay Gasson was possibly in a covering position.

The resulting free-kick is smashed into the wall by Everitt, actually hitting his own man on the end of the defensive line.

23 min - Sills gets up to head a corner at the far post but is unable to get his effort on target under some pressure.

15 min - Staines are having a decent spell and a good move and nice dummy allows left-back Adam Everitt to fire in a shot from the edge of the area, forcing a smart save out of Ashley Bayes in the Town goal.

11 min - A good break leads to Sills thumping an outstanding volley right into the top corner from the edge of the box - but he's flagged offside.

Town goal - And perhaps an indication why Staines are struggling near the foot of the table. Daly puts a free-kick from a central position into the area and Tim Sills is left unmarked to fire home a good angled shot.

4 min - GOAL - Staines Town 0 Basingstoke Town 1 (Sills)

1 min - Town get the game under way. Looks like it's a narrow midfield diamond, with Shaun McAuley just behind the strikers and Wes Daly shielding the defence.

Team news - There's good news and bad news as far as Town are concerned. The good news is that Delano Sam-Yorke is fit to start in attack. The bad is that defender Robert Rice remains out injured, while midfielder Simon Dunn is ill, so third choice goalkeeper Joe McDonnell is named on the bench, along with second choice Chay Morris.

Other than that, Jason Bristow has made just one change to the side that started the defeat at Dartford, with midfielder Jide Ogunbote replacing left-back Toby Little.

The formation is something of a guessing game. It could be 3-5-2 with Stuart Lake plugging the gap at centre-back, or a midfield diamond. I'll let you know when the game gets under way.
