Half-time - Basingstoke Town 0 St Albans 1

The half-time score is harsh on Town, who had chances to take the lead. A much better second half performance is needed if they are to carry on their winning run.

St Albans goal - James Fisher crosses from the right and finds Smith at the far post. His hook back across gives Pelayo Gomez the chance to head at goal - and while he is denied by a fine save from Locke, Effiong is on hand to blast the rebound into the roof of the net.

41 min - GOAL - Basingstoke Town 0 St Albans 1 (Effiong)

33 min - Nathan Smart bursts through and sends in a low drive that Bastock gets down well to save.

32 min - Ogunbote crosses from the right and Warner sees his effort well saved. The rebound falls kindly for Pattison, who looks set to tap home from close range - but Peter Smith does brilliantly to block. 41 min - GOAL - Basingstoke Town 0 St Albans 1 (Effiong)

31 min - Inih Effiong gets in behind Rice but shoots wide of the near post.

25 min - Pattison is hacked down by Matt Hocking as he looks to break through. Referee John Scott gives a free-kick, which Matt Warner wastes, but does not take any further action against the defender.

24 min - The ball breaks to Pattison on the left side of the area and he hits a decent shot straight at 'keeper Paul Bastock.

22 min - Peter Smith finds space down the St Albans left and his mis-hit cross is not far wide of the near post.

20 min - Deeney's free-kick from deep evades everyone and Town 'keeper Simon Locke shows good judgement to let it bounce narrowly wide.

19 min - A decent move down the Town left leads to Rob Rice skewing a shot well wide. Signs of improvement though.

16 min - St Albans' Ryan Frater is booked after hacking down Pratt but Town are unable to make the most of the free-kick.

13 min - St Albans' David Deeney has the ball in the net - but his celebrations are cut short by an offside flag.

9 min - The visitors have made a much better start, enjoying a lot of pressure in the Town box. Mistakes by Callum Reynolds and Jide Ogunbote give them a decent opening but they are unable to take advantage.

1 min - St Albans get the game underway, with Basingstoke shooting towards the Town End in the first half.

Team news - Frank Gray has again stuck with the same side that has won its last two games, with Matt Pattison lining up alongside David Pratt in a 4-4-2 formation. Jahson Downes returns to the bench after illness.
