Full-time - Sutton United 1 Basingstoke Town 0

A poor game decided by the only real moment of quality - but that's probably Town's play-off hopes over and done with.

See The Monday Gazette for a full report.

90+3 min - Robert Rice is booked for a shirt pull as Sutton look to see out time in the final minute of stoppage time.

87 min - Dundas is booked after preventing a Town break, while Sutton replace Kyle Vassell with Joel Legister.

79 min - The hosts make their second change, replacing Craig Watkins with Tony Taggart.

76 min - Town replace McAuley with Simon Dunn, just as the heavens open.

74 min - Sutton only half-clear a corner and Jay Gasson's lobbed ball back in finds Sills in the clear. He lifts a tricky header over Scriven - but also the bar, when he may have had time to bring the ball down.

72 min - Sutton replace defender Anwar Uddin with striker Leroy Griffiths.

68 min - Town replace Sole with Rob Gradwell.

64 min - Lake is booked for a foul in midfield.

60 min - Town force three corners in a row and the last creates a chance for Lake, who, on the stretch, is unable to head Sole's delivery on target from eight yards.

59 min - Scriven is forced to palm Warner's deep free-kick wide under pressure.

50 min - Warner's free-kick from halfway causes problems in the Sutton box. Sole manages to head across goal but there's no Town player there to take advantage.

Sutton goalscorer Beautyman is booked for a foul on Rice.

46 min - No changes at the break for either side. Sutton re-start the match.

Half-time - Sutton United 1 Basingstoke Town 0

Not a great first half as a spectacle - and the scoreline is not great from a Town point of view either. Tactically, Sutton have got it spot on and Town must change things after half-time.

44 min - Sills knocks the ball down for McAuley but his volley from distance is well wide and he had plenty of time, with passes available.

37 min - Sills puts Sam-Yorke away with a clever flick and he squares for Sole, whose effort from the edge of the area forces a diving save out of Scriven.

35 min - A comedy of errors from Town defensively. Lake's mistake allows Beautyman to get in down the left and while his cross is overhit, the visitors wrongly stop playing thinking it's going out.

Romone McCrae picks up the loose ball and has plenty of time to cut the ball back for Craig Dundas, whose shot is well saved by Bayes.

The problems continue from the resulting corner, Jay Gasson doing well to head McCrae's cross over the bar from almost on his own line.

Sutton goal - And it's a cracker. The ball breaks to Harry Beautyman 25 yards out after a couple of richochets and he smashes an unstoppable left-foot shot beyond Ashley Bayes and into the top corner.

23 min - GOAL - Sutton United 1 (Beautyman) Basingstoke Town 0

22 min - Stuart Lake fires in a shot on the volley from the edge of the box but it's easy for Scriven.

19 min - Sam-Yorke cleverly hooks the ball over the Sutton defence for McAuley to chase and he is brought down by Lewis Hunt, who is booked. Warner puts the free-kick straight down Scriven's throat.

14 min - Giuseppe Sole puts in a corner and it's terrible, the ball barely getting off the ground. However, Sills gets a touch to force it towards goal and Delano Sam-Yorke is only just unable to apply the finish by home 'keeper Kevin Scriven.

12 min - It's been a bit of a slow start, with Sutton looking dangerous in behind the Town defence. However, it's Basingstoke who almost have the first chance, Shaun McAuley just denied by a good challenge following a mistake in the home defence, while, at the other end, a free-kick evades everyone and goes not too far wide.

1 min - Town get the game under way. It's a pretty horrible afternoon in south London, with plenty of rain in the air, and the pitch looks like it's cutting up a bit.

Team news - Town have made three changes to the side that drew with Salisbury on Tuesday. Wes Daly is back after suspension and takes his place in midfield in place of Jide Ogunbote, Tim Sills returns in attack after injury and illness and Matt Warner replaces Toby Little at left-back.

Sutton: Scriven, Boateng, Uddin, Dundas, Telfer, Page, Hunt, Watkins, Vassell, Beautyman, McCrae. Subs: McKimm, Griffiths, Ledgister, Taggart, Shaw.

Town: Bayes, Rice, Warner, Old, Gasson, Lake, Daly, McAuley, Sills, Sam-Yorke, Sole. Subs: Smart, Ogunbote, Little, Gradwell, Dunn.
