BASINGSTOKE RFC face their biggest test of the season so far, but the reward for victory is a place in the final of the Hampshire Vase.
Standing between them and a tilt at some silverware are visiting United Services Portsmouth, who play in the league above Stoke.
Basingstoke certainly have a chance as they have an impressive 100 per cent record in the league and warmed up for the game with an impressive 41-0 victory over United Services city neighbours Portsmouth II.
Chair of Senior Playing David Greenaway said: “We are looking forward to the match against US Portsmouth as they are currently fourth in London Three South West.
“In the 2014-15 season, they managed to win the old Hampshire One, now the Hampshire Premiership, undefeated wining 18 from 18. This is something we want to replicate this season."
He added: “It will be a good measure on the progress we have made since last season we know they have a strong forward pack, so we expect a physical battle, but the boys are excited for this cup match and the chance to get to the final.”
