HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARY on being hale and hearty at the wonderful age of 100. The Watkins and (née) Wood family from Basingstoke and South Wales - 3 Sons, 7 Grand Children, 10 Great Grand Children - all wish you a very happy and healthy "100th" birthday. Mary arrived in Basingstoke from South Wales in 1936, at the tender age of 18, to become an auxiliary nurse in Park Prewett Hospital in Basingstoke. Met Pop (Syd) Watkins and married in 1939. Both Mary and Syd became active in the Borough's affairs and politics. Mary almost single handedly raised her three sons after Syd lost both his legs. Guests at Mary's party will travel from all parts of England & Wales together with a Son (Denis) living in Spain and a Grandson living in Hong Kong.
