NOTICE OF APPOINTMENT OF DATE FOR THE EXERCISE OF ELECTORS' RIGHTS
ACCOUNTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2013

NOTICE
1. Date of announcement 18th July 2013.

2. NOTICE IS GIVEN that between 9.00am and 5.00pm from and including Thursday 1 August 2013 to Thursday 29 August 2013 (excluding weekends and bank holidays) any person interested may inspect, and make copies of the accounts of the above named Council for the year ended 31 March 2013 and all books, deeds, contracts, bills, vouchers and receipts relating thereto. The accounts and other documents will be available for inspection at the offices at which they are normally kept, or otherwise by arrangement. Application should be made initially to the Head of Resources, Civic Offices, London Road, Basingstoke, Hants, RG21 4AH, Tel (01256) 845513.

3. Notice is also given that on Friday 30 August 2013 the Auditor, at the request of a local government elector for any area to which the accounts relate, will give the elector or their representative an opportunity to question them about the accounts. In addition any such elector or their representative may attend before the auditor and make objections as to any item in respect of which the auditor could (a) take action in respect of any unlawful item of account, failure to bring a sum into account or a loss or deficiency caused by wilful misconduct or (b) make a report in the public interest.

4. Questions may be received at the Civic Offices, London Road, Basingstoke, Hampshire RG21 4AH, by arrangement with Mr D Deacon, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Savannah House, 3 Ocean Way, Ocean Village, Southampton SO14 3TJ (to whom requests for this purpose should be addressed). No objection may be made unless the auditor has previously received written notice of the proposed objection and its grounds. A copy of this notice must be sent to Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council at the address in paragraph 2.
