THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE) (BASING VIEW, BASINGSTOKE) ORDER 2014

Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-

Reason for Order: The Council is satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the footpath.

Effect of Order: All persons will be prohibited from travelling along the footway on the southern link of Basing View south for 95m (includes the footbridge over Churchill Way East, the spiral approach ramp and steps to the bridge on the south side of Churchill Way East) as directed by signs. The closure is to allow for reconstruction of footway link from Basing View to the footbridge

Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 04 August 2014 for 15 months. (Notwithstanding the above, it is expected the closure will be for three weeks until the 26 September 2014 or otherwise displayed on road signs in advance)

Alternative Route: From southern end of footbridge proceed west then south along footpath. Continue west along footway / cycleway. At underpass turn north on footway under Churchill Way East as far as Basing View. Turn east along Basing View to northern end of footbridge and by this route reversed.
