NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF ORDER
Highways Act 1980
BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL PARISH OF BASINGSTOKE, PART OF FOOTPATH 717 PUBLIC PATH EXTINGUISHMENT ORDER 2016

On the 29 June 2016, Basingstoke & Deane Borough Council confirmed the above order as an unopposed order made under s118 of the Highways Act 1980.
The effect of the Order as confirmed will extinguish the public footpath running from Point A to Point B (from SU 6399 5477 to SU 6447 5453) and from Point C to Point D (from SU 6485 5432 to SU 6488 5434) as shown on the Order Plan.
A copy of the Order and the Order Plan may be seen free of charge at Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council Civic Offices London Road Basingstoke Hampshire between the times of 9:00am and 4:30pm Monday to Friday. Copies of the Order and the Order Plan can be bought there at the price of £2.50. Details are also available on the Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council website www.basingstoke.gov.uk search for footpath diversion orders.
This order comes into force immediately, but if any person aggrieved by the order desires to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act, as amended, or on the ground that any requirement of that Act, as amended, or any regulation made under the Act has not be complied with in relation to the order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within 6 weeks from the date on which notice is first published, make an application to the High Court.

Note: The purpose of this order is to rectify the Parish of Basingstoke, Part of Footpath 717 which should have been extinguished, with the development of Popley Site 3, during the late 1960's.
