THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) (VARIOUS ROADS (11), BASINGSTOKE) ORDER 2013
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, proposes to make the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
Effect of Order: All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along various roads within Basingstoke as detailed below:-
1. Stag Hill, South Ham Ward, from the junction with Buckland Avenue for 100m. Diversion route - Proceed via Pinkerton Road onto Brackley Way onto High Drive and then onto Buckland Avenue.
2. Up Street, Dummer, from outside Old Forge House to Village Farm. Diversion route - Proceed via Down Street onto the A30 Roman Road onto the A30 Winchester Road over the M3 and onto Up Street.
3. Pack Lane, Oakley, from the junction with the B3400 Andover Road for 30m. Diversion Route - Proceed via the B3400 Andover Road onto Fox Lane and onto Pack Lane.
4. St Peters Road, Basingstoke, from the junction with Alliston Way to 30m past junction for Bardwell Close. Diversion Route - Proceed via Alliston Way to Claythorpe Road and onto St Michaels Road.
5. Farleigh Lane, Dummer, from Paddock Lodge to Dummer Clump. Diversion Route - Proceed via Up Street onto Dummer Down Lane onto Duxford Lane onto Dummer Road and onto the B3046 Farleigh Road.
6. Milkingpen Lane, Old Basing, from under the rail bridge and 20m either side. Diversion Route - Proceed via The Street onto Crown Lane
7. Meadham Lane, Hannington, from the junction with Kingsclere Road to the junction with Summer Down Lane. Diversion Route - Proceed via the B3051 Kingsclere Road to White Hill to Winchester Road to Swan Street to George Street to Ashford Hill Road onto the A339 Kingsclere Road to Summer Down Lane
8. Rooksdown Avenue, Rooksdown, from the junction with Park Prewett Road to past the junction of Vittelius Gardens. Diversion Route - Proceed via Mill Road onto Park Prewett Road.
The closure is to allow for Hampshire County Council Highways to carry out maintenance repairs.
Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 22 August for 12 months. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected that each closure will be for a period of 1 week only as directed by advance warning signs.)
