THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE)
(RENOWN WAY, CHINEHAM)
ORDER 2013
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the footpath should be restricted or prohibited because of the likelihood of danger to the public.
Effect of Order: All pedestrians will be prohibited from travelling from the north end of the footbridge on the Maybrook footpath to the south end of the footbridge on the Maybrook footpath. (Approx 20m). The closure is to allow for maintenance works to be carried out to the footbridge over Pettys Brook stream.
Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 19 September 2013 for 6 months. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected the closure will be for approximately 5 days only)
Alternative Route: Proceed via Hanmore Road west and eastwards to the footpath and by this route reversed.
