(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER) (KINGSCLERE ROAD AND NUTLEY BOTTOM LANE.

THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY TRAFFIC ORDER)
(KINGSCLERE ROAD AND NUTLEY BOTTOM LANE. OVERTON)
ORDER 2014

Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
Effect of Order:
1) All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along Kingsclere Road, Overton for approximately 800 metres as directed by traffic signs. The closure is to allow for reconstruction of the road over the Foxdown Rail bridge.
2) A one way traffic restriction will be imposed on Nutley Bottom Lane, Overton between its junctions with B3051 Kingsclere Road and Kingsdown Lane. Traffic will be permitted to travel south-eastwards. The restriction is to allow for reconstruction of the road over the Foxdown Rail bridge.
3) A 7.5 tonnes weight restriction, except for access, will be imposed on Nutley Bottom Lane, Overton between its junctions with B3051 Kingsclere Road and Kingsdown Lane. The restriction is to allow for reconstruction of the road over the Foxdown Rail bridge.
Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 16 January 2014 for 6 months. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected the closure and restrictions will be for approximately 4 months only).
Alternative Route:
1) From southern point of closure via B3051 Kingsclere Road, B3400 High Street and London Road to Whitchurch, Newbury Street and Newbury Road, C67 via Cole Henley and then B3051 Kingsclere Road to northern point of closure, as indicated by traffic signs.
