THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) (WORTING ROAD, BASINGSTOKE) ORDER 2015
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, proposes to make the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because of the likelihood of danger to the public. Effect of Order: All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along Worting Road, Basingstoke, as directed by traffic signs. The closure is due to detailed bridge examination.
Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 15 June 2015 for 1 month. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected the closure will be from 22:00 on 15 June until 06:00 on 16 June 2015 only).
Alternative Route: From Roman Way, Roman Road, A339, A340 Ringway W, Churchill Way West and Worting Road, or by this route reversed, as indicated by traffic signs.
The exemptions under S 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Road traffic exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and amendment) Regulations 2011 apply to this order.
