THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL

THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) (A30 RINGWAY SOUTH) ORDER 2015
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order-Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road
Effect of Order: All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along A30 Ringway South (Eastbound) from a point immediately after it's diverge onto Old Common Road to its intersection with Black Dam Roundabout. The works are to allow the safe installation of an overhead gantry sign as part of Black Dam Roundabout Improvement works.
Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 1 July 2015 for a further 6 months. (notwithstanding it is expected the closure will be overnight between 8pm and 6am for 7 nights during that period).
Alternative Route: Traffic wishing to travel eastbound on the A30 Ringway South to Black Dam Roundabout will be diverted at Hackwood Roundabout to take the A30 Ringway South westbound to A340 Ringway West northbound to A3010 Churchill Way eastbound to A339 Ringway East southbound until Black Dam Roundabout. The exemptions under S 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Road traffic exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and amendment) Regulations 2011 will apply to the order.
