Basingstoke and Deane - Temporary Road Closures

THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES (BASINGSTOKE HALF MARATHON) ORDER 2015
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section (16A) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council is satisfied that traffic on the roads listed in the schedule below be prohibited to allow for the safe passage of runners during the Basingstoke Half Marathon.
Effect of Order:
Closure - All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along those roads listed below as directed by traffic signs. Timings for each area are estimated and roads will be re-opened as soon as the last runner has passed through, and any barriers or signs dismantled. A full traffic management plan is available for the event and will be implemented by qualified personnel.
Alternative Route: Motorists are advised to follow the signed diversion routes as and when during the course of the event.
Duration of Order: The Order will come into effect on 4 October 2015 for 1 month. (Notwithstanding, itis expected thatthe closure will take place for one dayonlycommencing
4 October 2015.

The exemptions under S 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Road traffic exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and amendment) Regulations 2011 apply to this order.

Traffic will be held up using qualified TCO's on the A30 at the
Hackwood Roundabout from 10:50am-11:15am to allow safe
passage of runners across the A30 Hackwood Roundabout.
(Holding the traffic will prevent the need for longer road
closures on the A30)

1. Hackwood Road, Basingstoke - Closure in both directions from
the junction with Southern Road, up to Hackwood Road Roundabout              08:30am to 12 noon
2. Hackwood Road between Hackwood Roundabout and Venture
Roundabout (southbound carriageway only)                                                      10:30am-11:45am
3. A339/Hackwood Road in both directions from Venture Roundabout to junction with Farleigh Road (B3046). Access will remain only from Poynings Crescent and the Holiday Inn northbound. Diversion Route for the A339 will be Tunworth Road and Huish Lane.

4. Farleigh Road (B3046) in both directions from junction with A339 to junction with Grammarsham Lane at Farleigh Wallop

5. Closure in both directions of Church Lane/ Hackwood Lane/ Northgate Lane between Cliddesden Village and Ellisfield (junction with Grammarsham Lane)
10:00am to 1:00pm
6 Closure in both directions of Church Lane in Ellisfield up to junction with Green Lane, Ellisfield
10:00am-2:00pm
7. Church Lane, Ellisfield from junction with Green Lane to junction with College Lane at Wildmoor Farm

8. College Lane between junction with Church Lane at Wildmoor Farm and junction with Berrydown Lane
