Basingstoke and Deane - Speed Restrictions A33 Reading Road

THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY 30MPH AND 40MPH
SPEED RESTRICTION) (POPLEY WAY, A33 READING ROAD, BASINGSTOKE) ORDER 2015
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the roads listed below should be restricted because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
Effect of Order: All traffic will be restricted to a 40mph speed restriction along Popley Way and the A33 Reading Road. The restrictions are to enable carriageway resurfacing to be undertaken safely.
(a) Popley Way - from Reading Road / Popley Way junction to a point 75m west thereof

(b) A33 Reading Road northbound - from a point 285m north of Reading Road Roundabout to a point 280m north thereof

(c) A33 Reading Road southbound -fromReading Road /Popley Way junction to a point 110m north thereof

All traffic will be restricted to a 30mph speed restriction along the A33 Reading Road as per below
(d) A33 Reading Road southbound - 217m south of Popley Way/A33 Reading Road junction to Reading Road Roundabout

Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 5 October 2015 for 1 Year. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected the restriction will be in place from 12 October 2015 until 12 July 2016 only)
The exemptions under S 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Road traffic exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and amendment) Regulations 2011 will apply to the order.
