THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) (C12 WESTON ROAD, HERRIARD) ORDER 2015
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
Effect of Order: All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along C12 Weston Road, Herriard as directed by traffic signs. The closure is due to the road being excavated for installation of 300mm duct and re-instated.
Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 19 October 2015 for 1 month. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected the road closure will be from 19 to 23 October only)
Alternative Route: From the southern end of the closure travel southwards on A339 Alton Road for 1 mile and turn left onto C70 The Avenue. Travel eastwards for 2.6 miles and turn left onto B3349 Alton Road. Travel northwards to South Warnborough and turn left onto C122 Lees Hill. Travel westwards to Upton Grey and turn left onto C12 Weston Road. Travel southwards for 1 mile to the northern end of closure.
From the northern end of the closure travel north on C12 Weston Road to Upton Grey and turn right onto C122 Lees Hill. Travel westwards to South Warnborough and turn right onto B3349 Alton Road. Travel southwards for 2.8 miles and then turn right onto C70 The Avenue. Travel westwards for 2.6 miles and turn right onto the A339 Alton Road. Travel northwards for 1 mile to the southern end of closure. The exemptions under S 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Road traffic exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and amendment) Regulations 2011 will apply to the order.
