THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) (BRIDGE STREET/RED LION LANE/B3400 HIGH STREET, OVERTON) ORDER 2015

THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) (BRIDGE STREET/RED LION LANE/B3400 HIGH STREET, OVERTON) ORDER 2015
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers has made the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
Effect of Order: All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along Bridge Street/Red Lion Lane/B3400 High Street, Overton as directed by traffic signs. The closure is due to carrying out urgent BT works.
Duration of Order: The orderwill come into effect on 19 October 2015for 1 month. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected the closure will be from 19 October 2015 until 23 October 2015)
Alternative Route:

a) For Bridge Street - via Church Road and B3051 Kingsclere Road to B3400 High Street/Winchester Street junction (drivers can then either travel east on the B3400 or travel south and west using other local roads) or vice versa
b) For Red Lion Lane-via Woodlands Road and Lion Lane or vice versa
c) For B3400 High Street - via B3051 Kingsclere Road, Cole Henley Road, Newbury Road, B3400 London Road and vice versa, as indicated by traffic signs.
The exemptions under S 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Road traffic exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and amendment) Regulations 2011 will apply to the order. If you have any queries regarding the above please contact Rob Wignall on 07534 611020 on behalf of Options Energy.
