THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) (CROWN LANE AND THE STREET, OLD BASING) ORDER 2015
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
Effect of Order: All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along those roads listed below as directed by traffic signs. The closure is due to allow BT safe access to manholes for customer connection.
1. Crown Lane, Old Basing - from junction with The Street along Crown Lane for 150m. (From 21 November 2015)
2. The Street, Old Basing - from junction Crown Lane along The Street for 650m to junction with Milkingpen Lane. (From 22 November 2015)
Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 21 November 2015 for 1 month. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected all works will be completed by 29 November 2015) Alternative Route:
1 - Hatch Lane, A30 London Road, Old School Road, Newnham Road, The Street, or by this route reversed.
2 - Milkingpen Lane, Pyotts Hill, Bartons Lane, Great Binfields Road, Swing Swang Lane, Basing Road or by this route reversed.
The exemptions under S 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 will apply to the order.
