Basingstoke and Deane Council Speed Restriction

THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY 10MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) (B3048 STOKE LANE HURSTBOURNE TARRANT, ST MARY BOURNE AND HURSTBOURNE PRIORS AND A343 ANDOVER ROAD, HIGHCLERE) ORDER 2016 Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, proposes to make the following Order:-Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.

Effect of Order: All traffic will be subject to a 10mph speed restriction on along B3048 Stoke Lane Hurstbourne Tarrant, St Mary Bourne and Hurstbourne Priors and A343 Andover Road, Highclere as stated below. The speed restriction is to enable surface treatments.
1. B3048 Stoke Lane - from the A343 The Square to B3400 London Road.

2. A343 Andover Road - from county boundary just north of Penwood Road to surface change south of entrance to Great Penwood

Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 01 March 2016 for 7 months. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected the speed limit will be required for 2 days only between the hours of 09:30am - 16:30pm)
The exemptions under S 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 will apply to the order.
