Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council Speed Restrictions

THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY 30MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) (HACKWOOD ROAD. BASINGSTOKE) ORDER 2016
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
Effect of Order: All traffic will be restricted to a 30mph speed limit along Hackwood Road, Basingstoke, between the existing 30mph terminal signs adjacent to the Venture Roundabout and its junction with the B3046 Farleigh Road, a distance of approximately 490m, as directed by traffic signs. The restriction is to allow for the implementation of road safety measures to be undertaken on the A339 at the junction with Hackwood Lane. Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 01 May 2016 for 12 months. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected the 30mph restriction will be in place for 2 months only during that period) Advance warning signs will be displayed.
The exemptions under S 87 of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 and the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 will applyto the Order.
