THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) (MARY LANE AND STUBBS HILL, NORTH WALTHAM) ORDER 2016
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order-
Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the following roads should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
Effect of Order: All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along those roads listed below, as directed by traffic signs. The closure is to allow for the installation of a new drinking water main.
Mary Lane, North Waltham - from the junction of Steventon Road/Stubbs Hill to approximately 70 metres south before the entrance to Fraydell. Stubbs Hill, North Waltham - from the junction of Mary Lane to outside Grypton Grange farm entrance.
Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 25 July 2016 for 3 Months. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected the closure will be for 5 weeks only. The closures will be phased with work starting on Mary Lane and will be completed before works start on Stubbs Lane)
Alternative Route:
Mary Lane, North Waltham - Chapel Street, Yew Tree Lane, Church Road, Steventon Road
Stubbs Hill, North Waltham - Steventon Road, Waltham Lane, Ashe Park Lane, Stubbs Hill.
