THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE AND 30MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) (A30 WINCHESTER ROAD AND A340 RINGWAY WEST AND SOUTH, BASINGSTOKE) ORDER 2016
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, proposes to make the following Order-Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the roads mentioned below should be restricted / prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
1) Road Closure - A30 Winchester Road (right turn bus/taxi route) into Hill View Road in its entirety.

2) 30 MPH Speed Restriction - A340 Ringway West and Ringway South - as indicated by signs.

3) 30 MPH Speed Restriction - A30 Winchester Road - as indicated by signs. Effect of Order: All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along A30 Winchester Road and A340 Ringway West and South, Basingstoke, as directed by traffic signs. The closure and 30mph speed restriction is to allow works to take place and improve safety for the construction workers.

Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 15 August 2016 for 18 Months.

1) Via A30 Winchester Road, Brighton Hill Roundabout, A30 Winchester Road

The exemptions under S 87 of the Road Traffic Regulations Act 1984 and the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011 apply to roads numbered 2 and 3 on this Order
