THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) (BASING VIEW, BASINGSTOKE) ORDER 2016
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
Effect of Order: All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along Basing View, Basingstoke as per extent of closure below. Extent of Closure - Length of Basing View to have a temporary closure runs from the Roundabout junction on the southern loop of Basing View 100m north of Churchill Way East.
The closed section of 540m to the junction with the northern loop continues east and includes the 225m long cul-de-sac access to the AA building.
Signing on site in advance of and during the works will stipulate exact dates /times etc. as required. The closure is to allow for resurfacing works of the carriageway.
Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 15 August 2016 for
I Month. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected the closure will be for 1 week only between the hours of 1900 - 0600 Mon - Fri nights only)

Alternative Route:
a) For temp closure of the southern Basing View from the roundabout 100m north of Churchill Way East traffic will be diverted west along Basing View to the junction with Basing View leading south onto Eastrop Roundabout. Traffic is then diverted around Eastrop and then north back onto Basing View northbound to Norn Hill and then east onto the northern Basing View loop.

b) For the temporary closure of the end of the northern loop where it meets the southern loop traffic is diverted west along the northern loop of Basing View to Norn Hill and turn north. Traffic then turns east onto Gresley Road for approximately 1.2km to Wade Road roundabout where they are then diverted south along Gresley Road slip which joins the A339 southbound. From the A339 take the first exit left onto the Churchill Way east link and proceed west for approximately 1km. Approximately 200m before Eastrop roundabout traffic are diverted left onto the underpass link to Basing View and turn north at the junction and proceed 200m north on the Churchill Way underpass to enter Basing View.
