THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) (VARIOUS ROADS (10), BASINGSTOKE) ORDER 2013
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, proposes to make the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
Effect of Order: All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along various roads within Basingstoke as detailed below:-
1. Chineham Lane, Popley, from Popley Way to Trinidad Close. Diversion route - Proceed via Chineham Lane to Banbury Way to Oxford Way to Chineham Lane to Elm Road onto the A340 Aldermaston Road to Popley Way
2. Popley Way, Popley, from Tewkesbury Close to Abbey Road. Diversion route - Proceed via Popley Way onto the A339 Ringway North to the A33 Reading Road and onto Popley Way.
3. A33 Reading Road, Popley, from Popley Way to Reading Road/Chineham Bypass link East. Diversion Route - Proceed via the A33 Reading Road to the A339 Ringway East to the A30 London Road, to the B3349 Reading Road/Odiham Road and onto the A33 Reading Road.
4 South Ham Road, South Ham, from Sandys Road for the whole extent of South Ham Road. Diversion Route - No alternative route available
5 Reading Road/Chineham Bypass link West, from the A33 Reading Road to Simons Road. Diversion Route - Proceed via Reading Road to the Reading Road Bypass link East to the A33 Reading Road
6 Great Binfields Road, Basingstoke, from the A33 Reading Road to Wade Road. Diversion route - proceed via Wade Road to Faraday Road to the A33 Reading Road.
7 A343 Andover Road, Highclere, from Highclere Street to West Ridge. Diversion Route - Proceed via the A343 Andover Road to the A343 Newbury Road to the A3093 Churchill Way to the A303 onto the A343 Andover Road.
8 Pyotts Hill, Old Basing, from Newham Lane to Bartons Lane. Diversion route - Proceed via Bartons Lane to Great Binfields Lane to Swing Swang Lane to Basing Road to The Street
9 Chineham Shopping Centre Access Road, from the junction with A33 Reading Road to the Highway Boundary. Diversion Route - Via access at Great Binfields Road.
The closure is to allow for Hampshire County Council to carry out highway repairs.
Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 8 August 2013 for 1 year. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected that each closure will be for a period of 1 week only as directed by advance warning signs.)
