THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL

THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY SPEED RESTRICTION) (VARIOUS ROADS (12), BASINGSTOKE) ORDER 2013
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, proposes to make the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited. because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
Effect of Order: All traffic will be restricted to a 30mph speed limit when travelling along:-
1. A343 Andover Road, Highclere, from the junction of Westridge to Southern-most junction with Highclere Street. The approximate length of the speed limit is 1400m, as directed by traffic signs.

2. A339 Newbury Road, Kingsclere, from the 40mph gateway east of roundabout at Kingsclere to the Star Inn. The approximate length of the speed limit is 1000m, as directed by traffic signs.

3. A339 Newbury Road, Headley, from Galley Lane junction south to layby near Stattons Farm. The approximate length of the speed limit is 1400m, as directed by traffic signals.

4. A33 Reading Road, Chineham/Popley, from junction at Popley Way to traffic signals at junction with Lillymill Chine. The approximate length of the speed limit is 1700m, as directed by traffic signs.

The speed limit is required for safety reasons during resurfacing works.

Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 29 August 2013 for 12 months. Notwithstanding it is expected that each speed restriction will be for approximately 2 weeks only.
