THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES AND PARKING SUSPENSION) (VARIOUS ROADS, WHITCHURCH) ORDER 2014
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
Effect of Order:
All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along:
1) Newbury Street - from its junction with The Square to a point immediately south west of its junction with London Street.
2) Oakland Road - between Newbury Road and Evingar Road.
3) Test Road - between Winchester Street and London Street.
And, all traffic will be prohibited from parking along: Newbury Street - from the west side of Newbury Street being north of the junction with London Road travelling northwards for approximately 30m.
The closure and parking suspension is to allow for works to replace a block-paved zebra crossing.
Duration of Order: The Order will come into effect on 2 January for 3 months. (Notwithstanding, the closure and suspension is scheduled only to apply from 07:00 on Sundays to 07:00 on Mondays on 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26 and 27 January 2014.
Alternative Route:
1. To travel to B3400, proceed along Wells Lane, Lower Evingar Road, Evingar Road, Station Road, Newbury Road, Danes Lane, and Lynch Hill Park or vice versa as directed by traffic signs.
2. For Newbury Road, from the north of Newbury Road proceed to the junction of Station Road and then follow one of the routes referred to above.
3. For southern approaching traffic, proceed along Church Road and then follow the route set out at 1. above.
