THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE - SUSPENSION OF ON-STREET PARKING SPACES AND REPLACEMENT WITH PROHIBITION OF WAITING AT ANY TIME (VICTORIA STREET, BASINGSTOKE) ORDER 2014
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road, to prevent the likelihood of danger to the public. The Council considers it expedient to close the road at this point for the duration of the works. Effect of Order:
1. (i)Suspension of Resident Permit Holders Only - Between a point 67 metres north of its junction with Southern Road and a point 6 metres north thereof. (ii) Suspension of Limited Waiting; 3 hours, No Return 3 hours; Monday-Friday; 9am-5pm; Except Resident and Business Permit Holders - Between a point 90 metres north of its junction with Southern Road and a point 14 metres north thereof.

2. Temporary Prohibition of Waiting over lengths of road described in 1(i) and (ii) above The closure is to allow for safe demolition and construction of a new hotel.

Duration of Order: The order comes into effect on 23 January 2014 for 18 months.
