THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) (GRESLEY ROAD. BASINGSTOKE) ORDER 2014
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, proposes to make the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
Effect of Order: All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along Gresley Road between Junction with Norn Hill and Southbound on slip to A339 Ringway, Armstrong Road as directed by traffic signs. The closure is to allow for highway maintenance.
Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 10 April 2014 for 4 months. (Notwithstanding the above, it is expected the closure will be for one evening between the hours of 18:00-07:00. The exact date will be displayed in advance on yellow sign boards)
Alternative Route: From the A339 North bound offslip to Gresley Road, Right towards the Daneshill Roundabout, taking the 4th exit back on to Gresley Road, take the next left to the A339 onslip southbound then take the offslip to the A3010 Churchill Way East. At the next Roundabout take the 4th Exit to Basing View to Norn Hill.
From the West side of the closure traffic will be diverted along Basing View to A3010 Churchill Way East. Then to take the Northbound A339 onslip and then next left for the offslip to Gresley Road.
