THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE) (A33 ROUNDABOUT AT CHINEHAM SHOPPING CENTRE) ORDER 2014
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order-
Reason for Order: The Council is satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
Effect of Order: All traffic will be prohibited from travelling on A33 between Binfields Roundabout and Chineham Shopping Centre Roundabout. The access road to the Chineham Centre will be one way (southeast bound) The closure is to allow for Articulated Hiab to work on telecoms equipment.
Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 01 May 2014 for 1 month. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected the closure will be from approximately 1700 on Sunday 04 May to 0800 on Monday 05 May)
Alternative Route: Northwest bound traffic is to follow the signed diversion via the southern access road and perimeter of the southern car park of Chineham Centre. Then turn right on to Great Binfields Road and travel northwards to the A33 Binfields Roundabout.
