THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE)
(HIGHCLERE PARKINSON'S UK CHARITY RUN) ORDER 2014
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited for a charity 10K run.
Effect of Order: All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along:
1) Church Lane between its two junctions with the A343 Andover Road and Highclere Park
2) Seven Stones Lane between its junctions with Church Lane and Foxs Lane
3) Foxs Lane between its junctions with the A343 Andover Road and Harts Lane for approx. 1.2 miles as directed by traffic signs.
The closure is to allow for a charity 10K run.
Duration of Order: The order will come into effect 8 May 2014 for 1 week (notwithstanding the closure is expected to be on 11 May 2014 for 1 day only)
Alternative Route:
1) From western ends of Church Lane and Foxs Lane travel northwards on A343 Andover Road to Wash Water. At roundabout junction take first left onto A34 Newbury Bypass and travel south-eastwards to the Tot Hill junction. Take second left onto Winchester Road and travel southwards to Harts Lane. Turn right and travel south to the eastern end of Fox's Lane OR
2) Fromeastern endofFoxsLanetravelnorthonHartsLaneandturnleftontoWinchester Road. Travel northwards to the B4640 roundabout. Take second left and travel west to the Tot Hill Services roundabout. Take third left onto A34 Newbury Bypass. Travel north-westwards to the A343 Andover Road junction. Turn right onto A343 Andover Road and travel southwards to the western ends of Foxs Lane and Church Lane and by this route reversed, as indicated by traffic signs.
