THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL

THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL
(TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION)
(GRESLEY ROAD AND A339 RINGWAY) ORDER 2014

Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, proposes to make the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
Effect of Order:
1. All traffic will be subject to a 50mph speed limit on A339 Ringway North (Southbound) and A339 Ringway North (Southbound) and A339 Ringway East (Southbound) between Aldermaston Road Roundabout and Black Dam Roundabout as directed by road signs
2. All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along Gresley Road on-slip of the A339 Southbound (Ringway East) as directed by Road signs
To allow for the replacement of expansion joints on 2 bridges on the A339 Southbound (Ringway East) to be done safely
Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 22 May 2014 for 3 months. (Notwithstanding the above, it is expected the closure will be from 26 May 2014 to 30 June 2014 from 7:30pm to 6am i.e. night time only)
Alternative Route: The Gresley Road on-slip leading to the A339 Southbound (Ringway East) will be closed. An alternative route to get onto the A339 Southbound (Ringway East) will be at the Daneshill Roundabout turn onto Faraday Road and follow the road around until you get to the Reading Road (A33)/Ringway East A339 Roundabout, turn left (1st exit) onto the on-slip for the A339 Southbound.
