THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY 30 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION) (A33 READING ROAD BASINGSTOKE, BINFIELDS ROUNDABOUT) ORDER 2014
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council is satisfied that traffic along the A33 Reading Road, Basingstoke and the Binfields Roundabout Circulatory carriageway be restricted to allow for the construction of a toucan crossing
Effect of Order:
Speed Restriction - All traffic will be subject to a 30mph speed restriction along:-
1. Eastbound - from a point approx. 170m east of the railway bridge to a point approx. 20m east of the footbridge.
2. Westbound - from the junction with Lillymill Chine to the end of the kerbed splitter island on the A33 immediately west of Binfields Roundabout.
3. To include Binfields Roundabout circulatory carriageway and immediate roundabout approaches from other arms.
Duration of Order: The Order will come into effect on 23 June 2014 for 12 months. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected that the speed restriction will be in place for 6 months only commencing 23 June 2014.
