THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY 10 MPH SPEED RESTRICTION AND ROAD CLOSURE) (BASING VIEW, BASINGSTOKE) ORDER 2014

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council has made the following Order:-

Effect of Order:
All traffic will be restricted to a 10mph speed restriction along the road listed below as indicated by traffic signs:-

Reason for Speed Restriction: The Council is satisfied that traffic proceeding along Basing View, Basingstoke be restricted to a 10mph speed limit along that part of Basing View for resurfacing works as listed below:-

Speed Restriction - All traffic will be subject to a 10mph speed restriction on:-

1. The speed restriction to run from the junction with Churchill Way East Underpass for 105m north to the junction with the southern loop of Basing View. This includes the southern loop of Basing View from a point 160m east of the junction with the section joining Eastrop Roundabout for 680m east to the junction with the northern loop of Basing View.

2. The 10mph temporary speed restriction also applies to the northern loop of Basing View from its junction with the southern loop north and west for a distance of 540m and includes the cul-de-sac section at the eastern end of Basing View which is 225m long

Effect of Order: All traffic will be prohibited from proceeding along the road listed below as indicated by traffic signs:-

Reason for Road Closure: The Council is satisfied that traffic proceeding along Basing View, Basingstoke be prohibited from proceeding along that part of Basing View for resurfacing works as listed below:-

Road Closure -

1. The length of Basing View to be temporarily closed is from the junction with Churchill Way Underpass north for 35m. Signing on site in advance of and during the works will stipulate exact dates and times as required.

Diversion Route: Northbound section of Basing View - Churchill Way East Underpass, A3010 Churchill Way East, A339 Ringway Road, Gresley Road, south on to Norn Hill, east to upper loop of Basing View.
In addition vehicles travelling west on the A3010 Churchill Way East will be diverted west to Eastrop Roundabout and then north onto Basing View to the junction with Norn Hill and right into Basing View upper loop.

Duration of Order: The Order will come into effect on 4 August for 18 months. (Not withstanding the above it is expected that the speed restriction and road closure will be in place for 3 weeks only). An order for 18 months has been requested in case any remedial works are required in the 18 months following the works.

The exemptions under S 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Road traffic exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and amendment) Regulations 2011 apply to this order.
