TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC ORDER

THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC ORDER)

(VARIOUS ROADS. BASING VIEW. BASINGSTOKE) ORDER 2014


Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers has made the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road
Effect of Order: All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along: Road Closures
1. Old Reading Road - Entire Length (highway rights extinguished)

2. Lower Basing View - between its junction with Basing View (north-south section) and the mini-roundabout junction with the slip road to Churchill way East (eastbound carriageway) Access to the ENI office building and Matrix house will be maintained Diversion Route: (a) For westbound traffic via Upper Basing View to its mini-roundabout junction with Norn Hill and then continue straight on to Eastrop roundabout (b) For eastbound traffic use the slip road to Churchill Way East (eastbound carriageway) (Until 24 November)

3. Basing View (north-south section) - between its junction with Lower Basing View and its mini-roundabout junction with Norn Hill. Diversion Route: Via Lower Basing View and the remainder of Basing View to the mini-roundabout junction with Norn Hill (Until 02 March 2015)

4. Subway under Basing View (north-south section) - Diversion Route: from the Network Rail car park pedestrians should walk via Bunnian Place to Alencon Link and then follow the diversion signs through Eastrop Roundabout back onto Lower Basing View or by this route Reversed

5. Subway under Lower Basing View- Diversion route: Pedestrians should follow the diversion route signs through Eastrop Roundabout back on to Lower Basing View past the closed subway or by this route reversed

6. Footway/footpath on north & east side of Basing View and north side of Lower Basing View - between the mini-roundabout junction with Norn Hill and Lower Basing View. Diversion route: Pedestrians should follow the diversion signs between Upper basing View and Lower Basing View

Temporary Suspension
The Hampshire (borough of Basingstoke & Deane) Norn Hill, Gresley Road and Basing View (Prohibition of Right and Left Turn) Order 1986 shall be temporarily revoked insofar as it relates to Basing View parts (a) and
(b) until 24 November 2014
This is to Allow for the construction of a new road and works that are associated with a new retail development The exemptions under S 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Road traffic exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and amendment) Regulation 2011 apply to order.
