TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE

(VARIOUS ROADS (NO.6) HAMPSHIRE) ORDER 2014


Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-Reason for Order: The Council is satisfied that traffic proceeding along (i) Roman Road, Basingstoke, (ii) Tunworth Road, (iii) Crabbs Hill, Baughurst, (iv) Upper Wootton Road and (v) Rectory Road, Oakley be prohibited to allow for road maintenance. Effect of Order:
Closure - All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along
i) Roman Road between Winklebury Way and A339 Ringway North.

ii) Tunworth Road between Down Farm Lane and Frog Lane

iii) Crabbs Hill between A339 Kingsclere Road and Church Lane.

iv) Upper Wootton Road between Tangier Park Lane and Wootton One Mile

v) Rectory Road between Station Road and Trenchard Lane, as indicated by traffic signs

Alternative Route:
i) (a) Phase 1 via Winklebury Way, Ashwood Way and Wellington Terrace. (b) Phase 2 via A339 Ringway North, A340 Ringway West, B3400 Churchill Way West/ Worting Road and Roman Way.

ii) Via Tunworth Road, Greywell Road, A30 London Road, Huish Lane, Hackwood Lane and Down Farm Lane.

iii) Via Crabbs Hill, A339 Kingsclere Road, Ramsdell Road, Baughurst Road, Ham Lane and Wolverton Road.

iv) Via Upper Wootton Lane, A339 Kingsclere Road, Woodgarston Lane and Upper Wootton Lane.

v) Via Rectory Road, B3400 Andover Road, Pack Lane, Oakley Lane, St Johns Road, The Drive, Hill Road and Oakley Lane. Duration of Order:

From: i) (a) Phase 1 full closure. (b) Phase 2 9:00
ii) 08:00 iii) Part full closure, part 08:00 iv) 08:00 v) 09:00
To: i) (a) Phase 1 for 4 weeks total closure. (b) Phase 2 16:30
weekdays
ii) 18:00 iii) Part full closure, part 18:00 iv) 18:00 v) 16:30 The Order will come into effect on 18 August 2014 for 12 months. Notwithstanding the above the planned works are expected to take:-(i) (a) up to 4 weeks, (i) (b) up to 3 days, (ii) up to 5 days, (iii) up to 10 days, (iv) and (v) up to 3 days each.
The exemptions under S 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Road traffic exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and amendment) Regulations 2011 apply to this order.
