THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE)

(A339 RINGWAY EAST) ORDER 2014

Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order-Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road
Effect of Order: All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along A339 Ringway East:
a) A339 Ringway East Southbound: From a point immediately after its diverge onto A3010 Churchill Way to its intersection with Black Dam Roundabout.

b) A339 Ringway East Northbound: From its intersection with Black Dam Roundabout to its diverge onto A3010 Churchill Way.

to allow the safe installation of an overhead gantry sign as part of Black Dam Roundabout Improvement works.
The exemptions under S 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Road traffic exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and amendment) Regulations 2011 will apply to the order.
Duration of Order: The order comes into effect on 1 October 2014 for 9 months (notwithstanding it is expected the closure will be overnight between 8pm and 6am for 7 nights during that period). Alternative Route:
a) A339 Ringway East Southbound Diversion: Traffic wishing to travel southbound on the A339 Ringway East will be diverted to take the A3010 Churchill Way diverge onto A3010 Churchill Way westbound to A340 Ringway West southbound to A30 Ringway South eastbound until arrival at Black Dam Roundabout.

Traffic wishing to travel southbound on the A339 Ringway East from the A3010 eastbound Churchill Way will be diverted at Thornycroft Roundabout diverted onto A340 Ringway West southbound to A30 Ringway South eastbound until arrival at Black Dam Roundabout.
b) A339 Ringway East Northbound Diversion: Traffic wishing to travel northbound from Black Dam Roundabout will be diverted onto the A30 Ringway South westbound to A340 Ringway West northbound to A3010 Churchill Way eastbound to A339 Ringway East northbound.
