THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY FOOTPATH CLOSURE) BROCAS DRIVE/LEWIS CLOSE, BASINGSTOKE) ORDER 2014
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, proposes to make the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that use of the footpath should be restricted or prohibited in order to lay 55 metres of new drinking water main and two main connections.
Effect of Order: All users will be prohibited from travelling the entire length of path between number 1 Lewis Close and number 1 Darcy Close.
Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 13th October 2014 for 3 months (notwithstanding that it is expected the closure will be between 13th October - 14th November)
Alternative Route: N/A
The exemptions under S 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Road traffic exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and amendment) Regulations 2011 apply to this order.
