THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL

THE BASINGSTOKE AND DEANE BOROUGH COUNCIL (TEMPORARY FOOTPATH / CYCLEPATH CLOSURE) (GRESLEY ROAD, BASINGSTOKE) ORDER 2014
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council is satisfied that pedestrians/cyclists on the Gresley Road Footpath/Cyclepath be prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the footpath/cyclepath as indicated by signs..
Effect of Order: All pedestrians/cyclists will be prohibited from travelling along Gresley Road Footpath/Cyclepath from the footpath junction 10 metres northwest of the rail bridge to point 35 metres southeast of the rail bridge as directed by signs. The closure is to allow for Rail Bridge strengthening works. Alternative Route: Gresley Road, Faraday Road, Rankine Road. Duration of Order: The order will come into effect on 17 November 2014 for 12 months. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected the closure will be for 6 months only)
