The Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council

The Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council (Temporary Road Closure (Ashford Hill Road, Ashford Hill) Order 2015
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council are satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because of the likelihood of danger to the public Effect of Order:
Closure - All traffic will be prohibited from travelling Ashford Hill Road, Ashford Hill, from junction with B3051 Little Knowl Hill to the junction with Thornford Road, as indicated by traffic signs. The closure is to allow for carriageway surface treatment.
Alternative Route: From the western end of the closure travel south along the A339. At the junction of the B3051 Little Knowl Hill, travel west to the junction with Thornford Road, Ashford Hill to meet the eastern end of the road closure. Duration of Order: The Order will come into effect on 20 May 2015 for 12 months. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected the closure will be for 1 day only, to be advised by signage and letter in advance) The exemptions under S 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Road traffic exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and amendment) Regulations 2011 apply to this order.
