The Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council (Temporary Road Closure) (Vyne Road / Chapel Hill, Basingstoke) Order 2015
Notice is hereby given that Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council pursuant to arrangements made under Section 101 of the Local Government Act 1972 with Hampshire County Council in exercise of the powers of the said County Council and in exercise of the powers under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 ("the Act"), and of all other enabling powers, has made the following Order:-
Reason for Order: The Council is satisfied that traffic on the road should be restricted or prohibited because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the road.
Effect of Order: Closure - All traffic will be prohibited from travelling along Vyne Road / Chapel Hill, Basingstoke, 10m either side of the railway bridge, as indicated by traffic signs. The closure is to allow for a detailed railway bridge examination.
Alternative Route: From Alencon Link, Churchill Way West, Ringway West, Ringway North/A339, Aldermaston Road South, Kingsclere Road, Chapel Hill and vice versa or Alencon Link, Churchill Way, Basing View, Norn Hill, Queen Mary Avenue, Vyne Road and vice versa.
Duration of Order: The Order will come into effect on 3 June 2015 between the hours of 10:00pm - 06:00am for 1 week. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected the closure will be from 3 June 2015 to 4 June 2015 only) The exemptions under S 87 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and The Road traffic exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and amendment) Regulations 2011 apply to this order.
