Circumstances beyond the control of the young hopefuls late last year forced the closure yet again of the old watering hole, and we await further developments once the problem of leaky subterranean fuel lines is resolved.
WASSAIL ceremony: Join the Hook Allotment Association up the road here on the B3349, this Sunday, at 11am, for the ancient Wassail ceremony in the new orchard.
There will be lots of songs, noise and banging to awaken the trees from their winter sleep and encourage good fruiting come spring, enthusiastic dancing by the Hook Eagle Morris, plenty of cider on tap and a BBQ to boot!
